Qatar wealth fund QIA plans US$500 billion investments in the US over ten years

Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) plans to invest US$500 billion in the US  over the next decade, and also increase the headcount in its New York office, as the sovereign wealth fund seeks to bolster its presence in the world’s largest economy.

He said the US remained a key investment destination, offering opportunities across public and private equities, private credit, technology and innovation.

Al Sowaidi said QIA’s long-term investment approach enables it to provide stable capital and establish partnerships with companies and financial institutions, but warned that policies that restrict foreign investment or discourage innovation could prompt adjustments to its strategy.

He also said  QIA remained selective on artificial intelligence and technology investments, favouring companies with clear business models and the ability to generate revenue and improve productivity over the medium to long term.
