Portfolio investments hit $2.11t net asset position in Q4 2025


Singapore’s international investment position showed a mix of net asset and net liability positions across categories.

Portfolio investment recorded a net asset position of $2.11t in Singapore’s international investment position (IIP) by category as at end of fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025, with $3.04t in assets against $930b in liabilities, according to the Department of Statistics Singapore.

“Other investment” posted a net asset position of $207b, with $2.34t in assets and $2.14t in liabilities. Reserve assets stood at $526b.

Direct investment recorded a net liability position of $1.41t, consisting of $2.66t in assets and $4.07t in liabilities.

Financial derivatives also posted a net liability position of $41b, with $264b in assets and $305b in liabilities.

Singapore’s overall net IIP rose 2.6% quarter on quarter to $1.39t in Q4, from $1.35t in the third quarter, as external assets increased to $8.83t from $8.59t, outpacing the rise in liabilities to $7.44t from $7.23t.
