ICICI Bank Q1 profit surges 15.9% to $1.6b on more loans and fees


Both its loan portfolio and fee income recorded double-digit growth.

ICICI Bank Limited reported a net profit of $1.6b for the Q1 2027 period that ended on 30 June 2026, growing 15.9% year-on-year (YoY), the bank said in its latest financial statement.

The Indian bank said that its loan portfolio grew by 19.6% YoY to $172.3b during the quarter, whilst average deposits rose 14% YoY to $184.7b.

Net interest income (NII) rose by 12.7% YoY to $2.6b whilst net interest margin was 4.36% for the period, higher than 4.32% in Q4 2026 and 4.34% in Q1 2026.

Fee income increased 23.5% YoY to $770m, with fees from retail, rural, and business banking customers making up 72% of total fees.

Operating expenses rose 10.4% YoY to $1.3b. Provisions were $133m in Q1, lower than the $192m set aside in Q1 2026.
