Announcing that it will add 10 new ships to its fleet in the new year and start trading as well as sunflower transportation, Palmali Holding stated that its growth plans will gradually increase.

Announcing that it will add 10 new ships to its fleet in the new year and start trading as well as sunflower transportation, Palmali Holding stated that its growth plans will gradually increase.

Palmali Holding, which has made a name for itself in ship transportation with its 25-year history, will continue its success in the new year. Palmali Holding, which considers it a priority for all ships in its fleet to be ‘young’, can offer many different services such as ship agency and rental, in addition to its expertise in maritime transportation, experience in ship management and success in cargo operations.

Palmali Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mübariz Gurbanoğlu Mansimov, stated that they will start trading as well as new ship purchases and transportation as of January 2024, and stated that they will also work with the European and Asian regions.

Mansimov said that Palmali Holding has a structure that operates nearly 30 ships, most of which have a capacity of 6,000 to 20,000 tons, and that they will add 10 more “OBO” tankers with a capacity of 15,000 tons, which can carry both dry and wet cargo, to their fleet. Stating that the growth plans will gradually increase, Masimov said: ‘We are the ones who solved the sunflower oil problem in Turkey. Next year, we will further increase our transportation share from Ukraine, which is expected to remain the world leader in sunflower production, to 90%. “Thus, our presence in the Black Sea will increase further and we will continue on our way as the most active ship operator,” he said.

Ukraine, one of the world’s main grain exporters with its fertile lands, maintained its world leadership in sunflower oil despite the invasion launched by Russia in February 2022. The reason for this strong trend in sunflower oil, despite the decrease in the yield of other products, was that producers started to avoid high transportation costs and plant sunflowers, which are more valuable, instead of corn products, which take up a lot of volume. Palmali Holding responds to Turkey’s needs in this field by transporting sunflowers to our country from Ukraine, which has been declared a ‘dangerous area’ for ship transportation due to the current conditions.
