French economy grows 0.3% quarterly in Q2


Inflation-adjusted GDP climbs after increase in total production of goods and services, household consumption, 1st estimate shows.

France’s inflation-adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) climbed 0.3% in the second quarter of the year compared to the previous quarter, the first estimate released showed.

The contribution of the final domestic demand (excluding inventories) increased 0.1% in the second quarter after posting no changes in the first quarter, according to the French statistics agency Insee.

Household consumption was generally stable at 0% in the second quarter after minus 0.1% in the first quarter, the data showed.

Insee said that the total production of goods and services increased 0.5% in the second quarter after being down minus 0.1% in the previous quarter.
