The next generation also have different investment horizons, risk appetites, and preferences, it added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIncumbents can retain customers through advantages in trust, funding and risk, but loyalty cannot be assumed,\u201d Deloitte said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In China, approximately $3.09t of affluent households\u2019 wealth is expected to be transferred to the next generation over the next decade, according to a report by the Bank of East Asia and Hurun Research published on 30 June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a separate report, McKinsey &amp; Company said that relationship managers\u2019 roles must shift from client service to client acquisition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cFuture RMs will require less breadth in product expertise but will need to manage client relationships beyond the beneficiary owner and engage the next generation, transitioning into \u201clife coaches\u201d or \u201cfamily coaches,\u201d McKinsey wrote in the report, \u201cBuilding profit resilience in European private banking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Loyalty cannot be assumed, said Deloitte.
