South Korean engineering and construction company GS E&C has invested $15m in ammonia power generation firm Amogy.<\/p>\n
The two companies are already collaborating on a commercial pilot in Pohang, South Korea, where they plan to install a hydrogen-based ammonia distributed power system in 2026 and scale it up to 40MW by 2029.<\/p>\n
GS Engineering and Construction led the funding round, which included participation from affiliated venture investors Xplor and GS Futures.<\/p>\n
With the deal closed, GS E&C gains access to Amogy\u2019s on-site ammonia-to-hydrogen technology, which can feed hydrogen into a fuel cell. The company aims to help engineer, build and scale the system globally.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis investment goes beyond a simple financial participation \u2013 it represents a strategic collaboration to build a carbon-free ammonia energy ecosystem together with Amogy,\u201d said GS E&C\u2019s Jin-Hong Huh.<\/p>\n
The Chief Data Officer added that the company could support GS E&C\u2019s ESG goals too by \u201ccreating a sustainable society through carbon-free energy technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n
With this investment, Amogy said it has raised almost $100m throughout 2025, bringing the total raised since inception to $315m.<\/p>\n
